Five months after delivering her debut single 'Crystalline' to shattering success, Bournemouth singer Mhairi is giving us a second go with 'Clarity'. It's plain she is keen on being emotionally transparent with glassy production and a bare-it-all approach to her lyrics. In contrast though, her take on electronica is many-layered and anything but straight-down-the-middle, as she sprinkles pop and folksy elements over the beats for a fresh feeling that is littered with influences. Working with some heavyweight writers and big time producer Yoad Nevo, the thing that is very clear with Mhairi is that she's going to smash it. - SJ
